Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS)CME

and CME Field Agent Training and Duties

MD-only CME

Nurse CE, no  MDs

MD CME + Nurse CE

Clinical CE, no Nurses, no MDs

Review these documents below before your Activity Accreditation Intake Interview or Form Submission:

newNYU Long Island School of Medicine now invites clinical departments within NYU Langone--Long Island to sponsor a CME regularly scheduled series for recognition. Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Tumor Boards, M&M, Case Conferences, are all examples of regularly scheduled series.

For those departments whose CME Series Recognition Letter(s) expire on Dec. 31, renewal  materials are due by December 15. The attached memo details the four steps required and the materials we will need to review in making a decision on your series:

  1. 1. Faculty Activity Director submits an online Activity Proposal Form (one per series): • https://bit.ly/34Iqyi0  [visual guide ]
  2. 2. CME academic coordinator in your department completes technical training:
      1.    a) CME Field Agent Level 1 Certificate [3 hrs training] required, AND
      2.    b) Scored CloudCME Skills Competency Module [2 hrs training] required.
  3. 3. CME academic coordinator closes out the annual data for their CME series, including ALL attendance uploads, all session cancellations, and organizing your compliance documents in the F:/ drive into folders, as described in the process memo.
  4. 4. The CME Office will process your series recognition requests after receiving (all of):
    1. • a) Faculty’s online Activity Proposal Form, AND

    • b) Complete documentation of coordinator’s CME Field Agent training, AND

    • c) Complete disclosures for all planning team members, AND

    • d) An assigned, qualified Peer Reviewer name for your Dept’s content.

Series applications received will receive a decision in 14-21 business days after submission.

Decisions will either recognize your series for 12-months or request additional materials to reach approval. Please read the process memo in its entirety for detailed descriptions of each requirement.

CME Field Agents (CMEFA) assume responsibility for CME Compliance for department-based CME series. Please complete the following requirements to become a CMEFA:

    1. Log-in using Kerberos ID to complete your disclosure form HERE.

1a. If your series is New, Not-Yet-CME-Accredited, or Due for Reaccreditation, please complete the Series Accreditation Application HERE. If you do not know the status of your series, please refer to your Series' most recent CME Accreditation Decision Letter for the valid dates of your series.

    2. Study/Review the CME Compliance training modules   entitled CME Field Agent Training HERE.

    3. After reviewing the CME Compliance module, please complete the scored assessments HERE.

    4. Once you have completed the scored modules, please alert the CME office, so that we can verify and issue your certificate credential. We will then send you a Letter of Assent that you will sign to accept the CMEFA duties, and assume CME compliance responsibilities for your series.

    5. Once you sign the Letter of Assent, we will grant you administrator access to the CloudCME system for managing your series database, as well as access to the CME shared drives, and provide you with the series templates needed for compliance.

    6. To keep your RSS series Compliant with CME regulations, refer to the Checklist of Required elements for CME Compliance for Regularly Scheduled Series(RSS) Activities, for the documentation that must be filed for EVERY session in your series. The requirements vary by session type.
